Chinese manufacturer Himalaya is now offering their low-cost 3D printer model as well as a 3D scanner on Amazon.com.
The 3D printer, listed at $289.99, has a single extruder and a small build envelope of 4.3 x 4.3 x 4.3 inches. The company claims an XY positioning accuracy of 0.0125mm and Z axis accuracy of 0.0025mm, and the ability to support a wide variety of filament types including ABS, PLA, PHA, HIMS and PETG.
The 3D scanner, priced at $559.99, uses a turntable, dual laser, and camera to extract an object’s contours and to create a mesh file. The device features bright LED lighting and multi-angle merge to provide an accurate scan that can be used for 3D printing or to build 3D models.
