OLO, smart phone 3D printer passes its Kickstarter goal in 30 minutes

OLO, a low cost, smart phone-based 3D printer launched its Kickstarter funding campaign today and quickly blew past its modest $80,000 goal.

The device, which will cost $99, uses light from a smart phone to harden a special resin, layer by layer within a small enclosure. Print volume is 3 x 5 x 2 inches, and the device can achieve layer thicknesses as fine as 36 microns, with a resolution of 42 microns.
